Welcome to the Missouri State Association of Free Will Baptists. We are 180 churches strong with 14,000 in attendance. Missouri Free Will Baptists have a great desire to minister to their communities and lead the lost of Missouri, the US and the world to Jesus Christ. It is our belief that the path to successful living in our world today is a faith in Jesus Christ that moves one to follow his principles in every area of life. There is evidence that the first Free Will Baptist Church in the state was in Kirksville in 1865 and was the first church building erected in the town. The State association was organized in 1905 and included seven Associations and one independent Quarterly meeting. Since that time the State Association has shown itself to be progressive in missions, education and national unity.
The state magazine, the Gem is the oldest Free Will Baptist publication currently in production, having started in 1929.
Missouri Free Will Baptist have been contributors to state and national work since the beginning with one of the oldest Coop programs in the nation. Originally called the State Unified Fund, the plan saw $294.00 given in 1942. Changed to the Cooperative Giving Plan in 1953, the plan has grown to over $757,000.00 in 2007 with a total budget approaching 1.5 million.
The Show-Me Missions Plan raises $350,000.00 annually to fund International missionaries with ties to Missouri. An additional $250.000.00 is given for National Home Missions, State Home Missions and other International missionaries with no ties to Missouri.
